HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ALESSANDRA MACAM!

let's partei on sat!

cheers to your 22nd! :)

Now I know why.

I now know why Filipinos are less nationalistic than westerners (or other Asian countries). Aside from not trusting the government anymore, they' re just simply turned off by the rotten system. When I was in school, I used to think that they're inefficient without exactly knowing why. But now that I'm braving the real world and actually given a chance to experience things first hand, I understand fully why this beautiful country has lost its splendor.

Yesterday, I went to an SSS branch to secure an sss number that I might need for future employment. The whole experience was fun and exciting. It made me feel like an adult. Finally, I have a government record. It was also easy and fast considering that it only took me about 10 minuntes to finish the whole thing. No lines, no hassles, no expenses. But today was different. WAAAAY different.

Because I was inspired by how easy it was to file for an sss number, I decided to get a TIN number as well. Some employers expect you to have one when applying even though they know it's just your first job. So I decided to get one today. I thought it was as easy but I dread the experience. It was CHAOTIC. Everyone was packed in a small office space with tons of paper piled everywhere. It was hot, disorganized and just plain confusing. There were no concrete steps to follow... oh! actually there was but the illustration board that shows it was not posted properly. That's why people were lost. The worst part was not about the system, it was more about the employees who probably never knew that smiling and diplomacy were part of their job description. How cold can they get! They do not know how to deal with people. The BIR definitely needs some polishing, I swear! and they expect us to pay our taxes... I'm sorry but I actually lost the will to do so if not only for my starvng and homeless countrymen.

I PITY those I was with this afternoon, the helpless Filipinos who had to bear the same insulting situation just to get the job done. I knew that if there was just an easy way to accomplish what they need then they probably wouldn't waste their time there. The people in the government are taking advantage of the helpless Filipino people who can not complain. Because they just wanted to finish the job, they just keep mum about the inefficiency. Kawawa naman ang mga Pinoy.

HALA! Lan...

isang kaklaseng buong tapang nagtanong: "Is love all about sacrifices?"
TRINA (pabulong niyang sinagot) : "NO. It's about national development!"

yan si Trina! Happy Birthday :)

Go get 'em Spidey!

We had a family date last night and watched spiderman 3. I think it went beyond our expectations, it's obvious that the people loved it. Well, i did. It's better than spiderman 2. Actually, almost cartoony yung dating. Plus, it's just not all about the action scenes, there's a tinge of sentiment and dancing! hehehe :) if you haven't seen it, go and watch. It's worth your money.

Aunt May:Uncle Ben wouldn't want us living with revenge in our hearts, it's like a poison. It can take you over and turn us into something ugly.

"Are you talking about the parliament? WALA akong alam dun!"

Last night, GMA-7 aired the last part of their election special. The show was entitled "ISANG TANONG" which was sort of a forum attended by ALL senatoriables with credible newsmen as their panelists. If you happened to watch the 2-part special then by now you must've an idea who deserves to be in the senate. The first part (aired last Sunday) was more intellectual than what I saw last night. Well, in my point of view last night's show was amusing because of the presence of the new breed of senatoriables with the likes of Montano, Gomez and my fave... Victor Wood. Here are some things I remembered from the show:
Gomez - gave straightforward and acceptable answers to questions you'd never knew he'd give a care bout. I actually think that he did quite well and was able to come up with intellectual answers.
Montano - a bit clueless as usual. Good thing nobody asked him again about extra-judicial killings because I swear I will jump in my television and strangle him if he says "GUTOM LANG 'YUN!", which he said beofre in a presscon... Anyway, when he picked out a question asked by a senatoriable on how he can guarantee the people an honest election after suspicions of fraud and massive cheating, he just said: "I don't wanna sound spiritual but we just need to pray." Indeed we must pray that no one can a steal a seat in the senate and waste our country's resources by doing absolutely NOTHING. I can not take one more apology if ever.
Singson - "You were known to be the whistleblower during Erap's time at nilabanan mo ang pangungurakot noon, sa administrasyon ngayon kelan ka kaya aamin sa katiwalian ng mga nakaupo sa pwesto???" whew, the look on Chavit's face after the question was thrown at him was just priceless!
Coseteng - i can't get what she was saying because she was too nervous (i think, well judging from her gestures) to answer.
Lozano - blah blah blah. Good questions, weird answers. Totally stuck in the Marcos years still.
Pichay - his wave at Tessie Aquino after picking her question was just too distracting and funny! hehehe, like a li'l boy waving to a li'l girl only to sa na "yuhoo! kulelat tayo sa survey! ano gagawin natin?" hay naku, di pa siya nagbibigay na sapat na plataporma kung paano nya matutupad mga pangarap ng Pinoy. :)
Tessie - tessie, tessie, tessie... you ruined everything the moment you apologized (with matching tears pa) years after you did that during one of the most crucial times in Pinoy politics. Just dance, will you?
Victor Wood - ""Are you talking about the parliament? WALA akong alam dun!" DUDE, paano ka magiging senador kung yun lang di mo masagot. Hindi lang kagustuhan tumulong ang kailangan para maging senador ka. You have to know these things. Goodness! even my sister who is just in grade school answered that question pointblank when it was thrown at you. Walang keme niya sinagot ang pag-aamyenda ng konstitusyon at charter change. At dahil doon, she gets my vote. TSONG, you can't just be idealistic and preach na we need change. We get that, but what truly is your agenda to back that up. Be realistic and next time know what you're talking about. If you get elected then man, even though I'm completely anti-chacha, I'd wish for a parliamentary form of government and the abolishment of the upper house.
SERIOUSLY...
Only 2 get a thumbs up from me:
Cayetano and Escudero schooled all of them. Their young, intelligent, and brave. They gave the most satisfying answers that anyone belonging to any class will understand. I'm relieved that they made it worth watching rather than turning the whole thing into farce. Promising but there's still a lot to see. If they get elected, I hope they live up to the expectations and do good things for the country...seriously!
ALSO...
It was fun to see the broadcasters try so hard to control their expressions in their dismay. But some answers are just too.......! yun na!
THANK YOU to GMA-7 for coming up with that. Truly, it is a big help in deciding who gets our votes. I hope you do this every elections. and next time, if possible, air it on an earlier time and on a saturday so that more voters can watch. We need this so that we won't the same mistake of electing the wrong person over and over and over.
I hope this election will really change the way things are done around here...
