bagYO!

graPIC-ah!

ok, so this is another late post...but oh well, i still feel like posting it since this is my first seminar/convention with my fellow gct's! (girly creative team of hq)

let me digress by saying that yup, we are an all-girls creative team! :) and it's always crazy when we're together. anyway....

We attended Graphika Manila last Saturday at Mall of Asia (this entry is late, i know. hehe) It's an annual gathering of graphic artists (or students learning the field) where they can learn a thing or two from the pros! On its second year, its roster of speakers included Steve Tirona, Guadakomeda, and design companies such as Asylum, WeWorkForThem, Electrolychee, and the amazing motion graphics studio, HueLab. It was more of a show and tell of their portfolio rather than a lecture series which most of us expected being neophytes in the field and all. Honestly, I thought I was gonna bore myself and doze off as soon as it begun. But much to my surprise, I was entertained especially when HueLab presented their portfolio. Can I just say that they're awesome! hahaha :) serious! anyway, each of them was impressive that's why the event actually lived up to its goal which is simply to inspire young artists to love this field so the Philppines can also enjoy the exciting world of graphics that other Asian countries have developed ages ago. (Philippines=being left behind again) All of us know how to solve this: SUPPORT ARTISTS! that's it! :) hehehe. I went out of my comfort zone again and gave designing a chance. though i know i can never be good at it. At least the experience was fantabulous! also, it was free...which makes it all the more whoopidoo! ( thanks HQ) :)

GCT CRAZY @ GRAPHIKA

rainy days and mondays always get me down!

true. except for the rainy part. i love the rain! :)
before the week starts i would like to comment on janie's use of my taglines! you owe me for posting that in your blog. i'll be waiting for my twister fries and float AND super meal in exchange. since you put one in your header, an extra fee will be charged accordingly. :) hehehe ok ok, since we are friends naman, ill cut you some slack and just ask for 1 mrt stored value card! hahaha i know umaangal ka kaya make that 2! hehe kidding :)

it's monday which means another work week for all of us but im not complaining. im happy. im good. but for those who want a pat on the back as a consolation of a rather tiring environment just think of how lucky we are for having one. there are only two things that liftme up everytime. it came from 2 people who was kind enough to give me something to hit me if im dark and twisted. my dentist said that "mahirap maghanap ng trabaho kaya pag meron ka, mahalin mo!" see, that's it. period. if you feel down and stressed then find a way to shoo it away :) remember, we have to grow up once in a while and handle the situations on our own. and if life throws you lemons, go and make lemonades. does this still make sense? well anyway...my prof (hi ms. b! :)) also said that "madali magahanap ng work, mahirap maghanap ng career" so VERY true based on my experience when i was still a bum and felt like no one trusts me. but i found my place in society and am slowly picking up. for those who need a little push, remember that it pays to be patient and determined. go get 'em!

it's monday, i hoped it's already weekend when i wake up! hahaha! im contradicting myself again! boo me!

this week: GO CRAZY! explore and soar! like my butterfly :)

you can do it butter :)
you'll fry me when you see this! haha!

Bye Juan, Hello Mate!

It was probably the saddest sweetest goodbye in a long time when we dropped off Tito Boboy, Chuks, and Tita Belle last Sunday in NAIA. The fact that we won’t be seeing them for a long time makes it so sad, it’s hard to keep tears from flowing. The moment we have to give them our last hugs was unbearable. Kind of like imagining your life pass by without them to share your joys and comfort your pains. But what’s more heart breaking is not being able to celebrate family occasions and holidays together. I will miss Chuks’ kakulitan and sweetness. He grew up to be a smart, cute, kulit boy who makes everyone happy and keeps us entertained. Its truly sad thinking about these things but knowing that they’re in a place where they’ll be more comfortable and secured makes this a sweet journey. People come and go but they always, always come back to the family so I will be looking forward to seeing everybody again. Hey, Australia’s just one kangaroo hop from here; we’ll see what happens. I’d love to surf their waves and see the koalas.
I will terribly miss them …

yes you! hehe :) i will miss you little aussie boy!

Good thing we got to hang out in the farm last weekend to spend our last days together here in ‘Pinas. It was a relaxing, fun and fattening vacation. Can’t wait to have one again with all the Mirandas.

oh-no!

I know I’m young and there’s more opportunities along the way, but I just need to get this out of my system. The thing is, I just got a call from Abs-Cbn Publishing and the editor-in-chief wanted to see me this afternoon. I applied for the job last May 4 and was interviewed exactly a month after, May11. When I thought I had no chance, they called me again last June20 for a second interview. At that time, the eic, managing ed and then editorial assistant intervied me…so it was a panel interview which I didn’t really expect. But seriously, it was more of a getting-to-know than a stiff interview. So anyway, they didn’t offer me the job. The day after that, June 21, my present company interviewed me and right then and there offered me the copywriter position. The next day I started.

And today, July 9, Abs called me again to inform me that the eic wanted me to go there in the office this afternoon. Pronto! Oh-no… sorry…it’s too late. Come to think of it, my job’s better and more fun. It is challenging and at the same time providing me a venue for my creative juices. Advertising is a great industry. Anyway, I still do get to write, edit and proofread. Pay’s better also J haaay…. Yun lang! just wanted to get it out of my system.

The worst line was when they said.. “Oh no, late yung tawag!” Goodness! J

no sacrifice, no victory!

there's a lot to learn from TRANSFORMERS.
i watched it last night with trish, jr, tal, and bew. the movie was great, something worth watching over and over with matching never-ending post-movie analysis. you'll enjoy every minute since it has action, comedy, and romance. the lines are so funny! both the robots and mortals are witty. they do not put so much effort in trying to make it look so funny. the lines are delivered naturally which makes it more effective. truly, alot can be learned. from friendship to far greater ideal in life like sacrifice which all of us don't know its real worth in this spoiled generation. so, watch it if you haven't! money spent well. more promising movies are still lined up... goodness ala na pera si kato! hehehe :) coming soon.. harry pottah!
