Country music, anyone?

I can't stop watching this! I love love love their collabo! Of all the musical genres, I think country music's my least favorite so this is a defining moment. Wait, is this even country? But whatever. I'm completely mesmerized. I hope they do this on American Idol, which I think, by the way, is my favorite season so far. I'll get to that on a another post. Just want to share this with all of you. By the way, how can I embed vids? I know, I suck.

Friday Night highLights

My bum Friday had a happy ending after all. Thanks to the little surprises through my day. I now have a new addiction! Say hello to my 3 new buddies: (thanks to lindy and lexie. these 3 are nothing compared to your collection! haha addiction talaga.) I should practice my skills for lexie's upcoming birthday! hahaha :) eggciting! lex and lindy, thanks for these!

FINALLY! The most-awaited moment in Seattle Grace Hospital! The Grey's Anatomy Music Event aired on Friday. There were high and low points but the end saved it for me. In a rare moment, I just wasn't focused on the story (because it was Callie-centric and I've had it with her hehe kidding.) It was all about the SONGS! For non-GA lovers out there, this series was home to some of the best songs out there. Before they aired on the radios and mtvs, THE Alex Petsavas mounted them on this show and gave them their break. It's same thing she magic she used on the soundtrack of  The O.C. and GG to name a few. She's a musical genius and I love her selections. KATZ you are lucky to have had met her!

The whole cast did a great job. Kudos to the Tony-winning singing and acting chops of Sara Ramirez! Great thing they sang all the GA signature songs from snow patrol, anna, kate, the fray, jesus jackson, gomez, brandi, get set go and KT. I died.

I love Fridays :)

My Makeover

Since Hana had a makeover the last time, I thought I could use one too! And so she gave me a makeover in return. I've always loved having long hair but the humid summer weather is too much to handle. That's why I decided to have a pixie cut ala ginnifer goodwin or emma watson. But Hana was just knew to haircutting so instead, she gave me an "Ellen", I think. Check out my new look...

highlights:

1) ever-so-funny HQ moment.
Banana's makeover! I remember OT-ing this day because our afternoon was spent laughing so hard at Hani Banani's WINNING, shining moment. Funny yung makeover pic. I love the steady, normal pose. Parang natural lang! hahahahahahaha! It all started with our MICHELLE 'FAN' makeup tutorial and ended with this! Super laugh trip! :) In fairness bagay ang curls!

 2) Mark Nicdao's Vantage
Was able to secure a copy of Mark Nicdao's limited edition Vantage book. *Thanks POPACH!!!* A compilation of his amazing works, this book made me like him even more. Definitely my fave fashion photographer :)

1) Tragedy in Japan
Number 1 on my list is definitely the earthquake and tsunami that devastated Japan. Since then, I've been glued to the news just wanting to know every bit of information. And I realizedzed that during this tragic moment, there's still a spark of hope. Japan is a beautiful country because of its commitment to growth abd development but most importantly because of their values as a nation. Instead of losing hope, they held on to each other for support. I know everyone's been following the news and you know very well the patriotism, kindness and strength they've all displayed. No looting in shops, no blaming the government, no taking advantage of the situation. Just steps to their recovery. I admire them so much. Such a big thing to learn from a country who has lost so much.

2) Elizabeth Taylor
She just passed away yesterday. I've read articles and seen pictures of her deteriorating health and finally today she surrendered. I'm sure she'll be reunited with MJ soon. Her beauty is timeless and I can't stop googling pics of her when she was younger. She has a timeless beauty like Audrey.

 
3) lagot si Ligot
I wish I can watch TV anytime I want so that I'll never have to miss any of the Senate hearings. Lagot na talaga mga ligot!

I can't believe this just happened. F*ck!!!

I officially hate the MRT! My iPod was stolen today just as i was about to board the train from ayala going to north. it happened so fast that the next thing i know there's no more music playing and my earphones are just hanging from my ears. Dear Lord, give me strength to go through my day without music. I lost my best friend. It meant the world to me. It may seem superficial for some but I know any music lover would feel for me.

To my iPod, wherever you are, i love you and you brought so much happiness and calmness in my life. huhuhuhu :( i know i can never replace you. you're the best. purple. matte. 16gb nano with video.

i'm dying.

PS. I'm probably drunk-blogging right now because like what my brother said - tanduay ice is all i need tonight. in fairness it did help.

PPS. I reported this to the mrt personnel in the booth and she gave me a that's-a-hopeless-situation-smirk. i swear my fist couldve gone inside that window hole just to reciprocate the crappy feeling she's giving me. buti na lang sinave siya ng mas pro na personnel or else makakatikim siya. kidding....not!

Must read: The Lucky One

Okay, the worst part of blog-procrastinating is when topics get all piled up and you don't even know where to start. So I'll probably just work my way backwards and start with something I've just done that i need to share with you.

If you love to read, here's a guilty pleasure: Nicholas Sparks' The Lucky One. Yes it's formulaic. Yes it's predictable. Yes it's girly. But in no way is it boring. Hana gave me a copy last Christmas and I finally had time to read and finish the book. I wanted to read this for 2 reasons:

1. I secretly love Nicholas Sparks. Ok, im in no way romantic but give me a nicholas spark tear-jerker and ill read it from cover to cover without cheating! it's always a great read. though most reviews would say this falls short compared to other novels like a walk to remember or the notebook, i think it's on the same level. then again, it vaires from reader to reader. i recommend you read this - soon!

2. the movie's coming out soon and zac efron stars in it. im semi feeling lang that it will turn out like charlie st. cloud because it has the same mood. and reading the book, i imagine more of channing acting as logan than zac especially (*spoiler alert*) with the whole US Marine theme again. who knows? he can probablyy do this book justice just like what shane west and channing tatum did. hope the movie comes out soooon.
