New Hair

My unruly curls are driving me insane lately. So guess what i did? I chopped it! So much that even my bangs took the blow.

This is going to take alot of getting used to. Haven't had bangs like this since uhhhmmm...grade school! Was aiming for that chic look I'm not sure if it was successful. Anyway, will sport this cut for a long time I guess. I don't mind, I feel fresh and renewed! haha, arte lang! :)

God, please give me patience to rock this hair longer. I think my tress is getting stressed with all the changes. Haha :)

Starbucks Planner 2012

Time flies so fast! It's that time of the year again for the annual sticker craze. After all that calorie intake, I finally got my planner! This is becoming an addiction I cannot get out of - wait!- just realized I'm on my 5th planner already! This is bad.

This year was all about being green. I chose the Bamboo out of 5 designs.

The 2012 planner is noticeably smaller than the usual which is definitely a downer for me because I use this for work and that extra space is always a plus. I don't know how this new one can hold all the work sched. And, it's missing the string which was replaced by an ordinary bookmark. Guess it's all part of their green efforts.

Nonetheless, the sleeve concept is amazing! If you like to carry your planner around, then it's perfect for you! As for me, I thought of turning the sleeve into a book case for travelling! Brilliant, Starbucks! :) Now, I can carry around a book without the dog ears (Yes, because I'm OC and folded book corners are a pet peeve). Can't wait to use this!

Wonder what they'll have for 2013. Stay tuned :)

'i feel my heart start beating to my favorite song'

I didn't feel like blogging again till next year when I do my annual New Year entry but there's just so much new stuff worth writing about especially when it comes to music! Nothing probably can consume me more than listening to songs and updating my ipod. For all audiophiles out there, make sure you give these albums a shot or if you've already had, let's bob our heads together.

My fave albums that came out this year:

1) MYLO XYLOTO (Coldplay)
It's been on repeat everyday since it came out 3 months ago, i think, but still can't get over Coldplay's new sound. They chose well when they decided to release "Paradise" and "Every Teardrop is a Waterfall" as front liners but i think it's their song "Up in Flames" that delivers a punch. I'm no music expert so I'm just gonna describe this album by saying that this is the kind of music you would love to listen to while traveling. It's para-para-paradise! Plus! love the graffiti album artwork.

2) The Awakening (James Morrison)
Feel good! That James Morrison sound is back. It feels like a continuum of his previous album, "Truths for you, Songs for Me". Still loving the heart-wrenching lyrics and steady rhythm. Listen to his duet with Jessie J in "Up"!

3) Adele
After 10 months since its release, I still can't move on. Love Adele so much! I wish I could sing and write like her. Or, is that asking too much? Sige, kahit write na lang. Someone Like You is a masterpiece. More than that, it's how she sold herself this time around. 19 is a revelation but 21 is beyond words. I can fully understand the hype and admiration surrounding her. She deserves it. Hope she recovers from the throat surgery soon so she can perform live again. I think a great recording artist is one who can sound as great as the recorded version (or even better) when singing live.

That rounds up my playlist. While those 3 albums are amazing, I think next year will be the year for Foster the People. or maybe not..Feeling expert na ko, annoying. Anyway, can't wait for new sounds in 2012. Wish Arcade Fire comes up with something new. For the meantime, will play these songs again till I find something new to listen to.

2012 na! so fast! tell me what you're listening to people :) let's talk music!

Ultimate All-Star Weekend

Being the worst sports fan that I am, of course I missed yet another epic moment. First, it was the Azkals game in Rizal, then this! A match that will probably go down to Philippine basketball history as the best game ever! For all those who watched the Smart Ultimate All-Star Weekend in Araneta, can I just tell you that I am so jealous?!?! To this very moment, I wish I watched live for a chance to catch the shoes that the players threw! haha, lucky fans!

On Saturday the game was between the NBA players (Smart All-Stars) and the PBA All-Stars. Sunday was between Smart Gilas and Smart All-Stars. Thank you NBA lock out for this opportunity! and to Manny Pangilinan for bringing the players here!

Looking at all the people who watched the game, I guess it was okay that I stayed home and enjoyed my front row seats. Smart Araneta was packed! Note: Araneta Coliseum is now Smart Araneta Coliseum bec of MVP's collabo.

Anyway, I have new found respect for Kobe. He is nothing but great! He's so nice to all the players and Filipinos for that matter. But not only him, all players entertained us and gave us an unforgettable moment! So, thank you:

Kobe Bryant
Derrick Rose
Chris Paul
Kevin Durant
James Harden
Tyreke Evans
Derrick Williams
Derek Fisher

Come back sooooon, please!

But wait, not only were the NBA players awesome but also Manny Pacquiao, who caught the last few minutes of the game and even left the NBA players starstruck. Kobe even went up to acknowledge him. Lakas! Soon, he was ushered to meet the players who were all mesmerized hahaha. Chris Paul even showed his fancy boxing footwork to impress Manny :)

Overall, superb weekend for basketball. I love this game!

HQ Despedidas Part 2

For Nico's last day, Marco went all out. haha! I think Marco's drowning his pain of losing Nico in food and alcohol...pano he'll be left doing all the Accounts work!

We shared a gastronimic feast at Big Budhha for lunch followed by a night of epicness at Republiq. Nico, this should tell you how much we loved having you and how miserable Marco's life would be without you. He'll be stuck doing EVERYTHING, and no more time for idling and car shopping! hahaha :)

We'll miss you Nico and Maruh!!! :)

HQ Despedidas Part 1

I think there's already a pattern in HQ11 when it comes to resignations. It's usually back-to-back. Last August, it was Pike and Chey who left the group. This year, it was Nico and Maruh who had to say au revoir. I'm scared, sana wala na. Anyway, in the grand tradition of things, we see to it naman that we end each stay with a bang!

For Maruh's farewell, we trooped to Eastwood to have dinner in Stackers plus a night cap at Blue Onion (which is still alive and rocking - to my surprise!) The ultimate catch though: Maruh wasn't with us. So it sort of ended up as Nico's despedida part 1.

OH GOSH! How can I forget?! Highlight of the night pala was watching LAHI play live! And the front act of The Dawn pa for their 25th anniversary. Oh, that's why we were in Eastwood! hahaha! We were grouppies nga pala! Sorry, Marco. I almost killed your rockstar career.

can't wait for the LAHI band!

the fazes

nicow bawa

the closeness.... the friendship.... the fakeness hahaha!

'in your face' shot

jts and coy. (girl version)

hey, hey i wanna be a rock star

cheers to the good times..most especially the bad!

So for us 3 marvelous girls remaining, I dedicate this to you my loves. Here's our theme song to remind us that we will always be together. Watch this Popach and Banana. This one's for you guys:
