David vs Goliath

It's a strange feeling to be blogging again. Especially when you know you will be writing another aboutr tragic event. After the carnage in makati from the glorietta blast i posted about a month ago, here i am blogging about another makati event that shook us yesterday. No, it's not the 4.2 earthquake that literally shook the city this week bout something more shakening, a tremble that i felt inside.

Lost cause?

Please don't tell me it is so. because since it happened, almost everyone agreed when i asked them about it. Another one? Same guy? Sen. Trillanes took Makati City on a spin as he tried, again, to get everyon'e attention about the worsening condition of the country as a result of a rotten leadership, so he says. But even before he can speak out, he was silenced. No, not that kind where you can only speak out in your after life but something more brutal. He was stripped off his right to fight for what he believed in. Something that is enough to kill any patriotic soldier. The siege in makati or manila peninsula in particular, gave me a feel of what had happened 20 something years ago. Back when people where more vigilant and when they were still lead by a housewife that became the most powerful woman in the whole world. This tme, how different was it?
Could it be because Gen. Danny Lim and Sen. Antonio Trillanes caught us all off guard and no one thought that during that fateful rainy day, we will see another coup de' etat. Or was it because no one anticipated their walk out from their case hearing. A case that was from their first attempt to free us from the mockery that this government turned our lives into. A joke that left no one laughing. day by day things are getting more serious and intense. Questions like, "what's gonna happen to trillanes and lim?", or "what will the government do next?" still clouds everyone's mind.

Tank you

I have never seen an apc wreck a hotel, that's for sure. That magnificent hotel grandeur that has become a symbol of exclusivity and luxury for some was ruined by an ugly chunk of metal whose purpose for doing so hasn't really made that much point to me. Why on earth did they drive that into the hotel? I guess the owners must've had their hearts broken when they were watching it. Imagine ruining that beautiful hotel just to stop a handsful of soldiers. They must've known something enough to crumble this governement which we'll never know i guess. So I tank the AFP for doing that and providing us the right amount of suspense and action any spectator would love to see in a case like this. But what's more entertaining was their attempt in comedy. Imagine throwing tear gas in the hotel and then trying to go in just minutes after. Who do you think was hurt by the gas? the magdalos? haha. i don't think so. I guess too much action drowned their common sense. oh well.

MEDIAcre

Mess with one, mess with all. Hasn't the men in camos realized that already. Media men risked their lives so they can give us the latest news on the event. Why arrest them? Was it bad to cover the news that affects everyone. Was it wrong to give the people what they needed to know? Were they crossing the line? It's enough that many lives were already affected. Spare them. What the government did i think only took the spotlight from the magdalos and owned it. But not for anything good i suppose because you dont get to mess with the media...they fight back. See now, in our news, the governement's role in defending us from distabilization and terror turned into an oppression. So cut them some slack and stick to the point. What was that again? tsktsk.

I CUR-FEW

12mn to 5am? seriously?. this isn't the '80s anymore. life is different. when you impose a curfew there are definitely strings attached. im keeping you posted on that one.

After shock

I still hope in my heart of hearts that what happened last thursday wasn't just another page written in history. rather, a wake up call from years of slumber. A sane guy, much more a soldier will not risk everything just so he can put up a show. He wanted to tell us something. Though we might not be able to see him in days to come, i hope we still get to hear his plea.
Not just hear but listen. Not just look but see. Not just be a citizen but be a filipino. Be someone worth dying for.
