current read: Lovely Bones

Before the time traveler's wife, there was Lovely Bones.

I can see why these books are being compared. the way it was written was very similar. you won't find yourself bored with the narration. both, a page turner. though lovely bones can be dragging at times because the story is flat-out saddening. well, the story revolves around a brutal death so what can one expect. BUT im a very bad reader cause i cheat!!! yup, when the story catches up with me, i take a TINY peek at the last page just to satisfy my curiousity - haha! so now, i know why this book soared as a best seller. must read!

btw, the movie's coming out on december -- hahaha! im the ultimate sell-out!!!! :)

time traveler's wife (movie)

watched it already.

though i love the book, the movie was just ok. in literature, you'll learn that one should never, ever compare a book to its movie because of certain factors. i agree. but the technical stuff of it was the reason for the setback. it will probably gain a more positive response from someone who hasn't read the book. i personally think it fell flat with the transitions. it could've been better if there were narrations or even a better soundtrack. it was very linear and structured as compared to the woven and intricate storyline of the book. well we can blame it on time constraints. but the "it" factor was just missing. this is why it didn't live up to the hype. but nonetheless, it was a tearjerker. still a must-see. catch it if you haven't yet. :)

Going Gaga!

that's how it was last night.

Araneta wa packed! Seryoso napuno ni Lady Gaga! Me and my officemates had a blast. Too bad my sisters weren't able to make it. Well, Pel wasn't allowed bec it was a school night and her exam's today and tal was feeling sick-o. I know that had they gone, they would've enjoyed it as much as i did. super sayang. thanks trish and sirjt for stepping in! haha bawi-bawi, walang luge :)

though it started 9-ish --tagal ng pedicab!--super saya, but at the end bitin pa din. everyone was shouting "more" but i guess even if she was game to sing more, she coudn't do so cause wala na siya kakantahin. lady gaga has only 1 commercialized album under her belt so far so that's limiting her performance to only a handful of songs. to make up for that, she gave one hell of a performance. beyond her "kaGAGAhan", you can see right through her that she is an artist. looooove the costumessssss (as in zuper daming changes), makeup, dance (semi-stiff effect! haha), shoes, gimmicks, antics, lines and props! my 1k ticket is just right - great seats :)

im poor :( but i like it for the sake of once-in-a-lifetime experiences! haha new excuse! anyway, hope wala pang bagong int'l concerts...paramore please dont come just yet!!! huhuhuhahahaha

EDSA baby. Cory's legacy.

By now, prayers have been said and tears have been shed. And like every Filipino in mourning, I feel the sudden emptiness and hopelessness without her. But with all the pain, criticism, longingness and sacrifices she's been through, I could only wish for happiness and peace for Former Pres.Cory Aquino. Finally, she's reunited with her Ninoy in a place surrounded by old oak trees and unfading melodies.

Let not her fight for democracy be a lost cause. It's up to you and me - the EDSA babies- to continue guarding our freedom against moral corruption. Every Filipino who witnessed a rotten and unjust system serves as her legacy in keeping the flame of democracy burning in our hearts.

Thank you, Cory.
