Molar Extraction Part 1

I finally had my lower right molar removed. Initially, I wanted to blog daily about my dental surgery experience last Wednesday but it was a bit uncomfortable to be in front of the computer for a long time and my mind was more focused on recovering rather than thinking of words to describe the ordeal, hehe! :)

So yes, I'm one of the few million people with impacted molars on the lower jaw. I still have to go through part 2 early next year as I only had 1 taken out this week. Anyway, it was nothing like how I imagined it to be - surprisingly, it was less painful! The whole time I was anaesthesized and I can't even feel a thing until the anaesthesia started to wear off and my dentist had to inject another. She can tell because my right eye was making unvolutary twitches haha. Thank goodness I was so used to all those facial injections from my pimple treatments and all the bunot I went through when i was a kid that I found this to be quite bearable. My dentist also jokingly said that, "It would be easy, imagine, 1 year mo to pinaghandaan!" hahaha. it's true, though. I was stalling for a year so I was ready.

After 1 hour (only!), 1 giant molar, 3 anaesthesia shots, and 4 sutures...I had my pesky molar removed! finally! it won't be bothersome anymore. When i got home that's when i felt the pressure pounding my jaw and all I can do is wish the painkiller wont give me allergies and that we have enough ice in the ref for my cold compress. Good thing all's well! (revelation 1: found the perfect painkiller that will kick my allergy's butt to the curb! Thanks to my molar!) I don't want to end up with swollen cheek and eyes! Pain is hard enough to deal with.

Anyway, the difficult part was only on the 1st day when you can barely open your mouth and move around scared to death that these might open up the stitches and make me bleed to death :) 2nd day was a little better though the right side of my face was swelling with bearable pain. aarrrggghhhh. But it gets better when the pain subsides and you can just enjoy your FREE DAY!!!!! watching tv and whiling away the hours! :) I love't! I was prepared for this! I stacked up on new movies and korean series for my 3-day leave! yipee! Plus i even got a straw which was a BIIIIG help ;)

my twin! haha :) i don't know if you can tell that my right cheek's swelling :) katakot face ko wasted in pain :)

Revelation 2 (and the most significant of all): I can handle pain. When down to the wire, I can manage it and not panic. I always thought I had such low threshold for pain but this experience gave me a new perspective of my tolerance. But I'm not asking for more. I think this will suffice for a lifetime :)

I'm still going back next week to have the stitches removed. I wish I could post pictures of my freshly-removed bloody molar which I took after the procedure and a cleaner version after I washed it. Yup, took them home! :) (Them meaning the tooth was dissected into 5 pieces to extract it easier). But this is a wholesome blog I dont want anything too graphic and gruesome :) I'm just dying to show you what an actual tooth root looks like!!! Or even my super cool xray where you can see my molars sleeping :)

my bum companions :) Perfect Match! (Finished in 2 days! haha!), Ramona & Beezus!, Social Network and yup, gantsilyo! (very lola-ish! i like!--my sister's prpoject haha)

That's it for now. I guess you have to wait for the next part which I don't want to think of just yet. Till my next molar adventure! For the mean time I will continue living on ice cream, soup and water :)

PS. If you want me to post my scary molar, it's by request hehe :)
